Jeannette M. (Hervieux) Roy, age 100, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at the Greenwood Nursing Home in Sanford, Maine. She was the wife of the late Albert R. Roy who died in 1975.
Born in Lowell on May 27, 1911, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Marie Anna (Brunelle) Hervieux.
Mrs. Roy was a resident of Dracut for many years until moving to Maine to live with her daughter. She was a past president and member of the Dracut Senior Citizens Club for many years and enjoyed planning trips. She was also a foster grandparent at the Campbell School in Dracut and was a member of the Dracut Council on Aging.
She leaves a daughter, Rita (Roy) Bailey and her husband Edward of No. Berwick, ME; a son, Raymond Roy and his wife Jeanne of Rangeley, ME; 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, many nieces and nephews. She also leaves 2 sisters, Lucille Reinhold of Methuen and Anne Marie O'Malley of Clinton; a sister-in-law, Rosette Hervieux of Lowell. She was the sister of the late Estelle Gaudet, Germaine Beaulieu, Cecile Robert, Raymond, Paul, Alfred and Robert Hervieux.
