Roger A. Soucy, 87, loving husband of Pauline I. (Laurin) (Pelletier) Soucy of Lowell who survives him, died Saturday morning at Lowell General Hospital.
Born in Lowell on February 26, 1925, he was a son of the late William J. and Aurore (L'Abbe) Soucy and received his education in the Lowell schools.
During World War II and the Korean Conflict, Mr. Soucy served his country in the United States Army attaining the rank of Sergeant. Mr. Soucy worked as a maintenance machinist for the Millipore Corporation in Bedford. He retired in 1980.
He attended the former St. Louis de France Church and was a member of the St. Louis Veterans Group, the Franco American War Veterans and the V.F.W. Post 662 in Lowell. Mr. Soucy was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #72 of Lowell, past president for 12 years of the Centraville Senior Citizens, served on the Board of Directors of the Friends of the Lowell Council on Aging Center Inc. and an active member of both the Chelmsford and Dracut Senior Citizen Clubs.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Dr. Roger A. Pelletier of Dracut; a brother, Rev. Robert Soucy of Dennisport, MA; a sister in law, Lorraine (Thellen) Soucy of Pelham, NH; two grandchildren, Tracy Gray and her husband Christopher and Kimberly Ladebauche and her husband Doug all of Hudson, NH; six great grandchildren, Kenneth and Brandon Gray, Tyler, Kyle, Zachary and Ashley Ladebauche, several nieces and nephews especially Rolande "Rollie" Soucy of Bridgewater, MA and a dear family friend Rev. Lawrence Pratt of Dennisport, MA.
Mr. Soucy was also the Father in Law of the late Marjorie Pelletier, Great Grandfather of the late Mallory Gray and Brother of the late Doris Maille and Roland J. Soucy.
